Since its founding in 1996, UITM has led the fusion of technological innovation and practical learning as a pioneer of private higher education in Central Europe. Today it is the largest private university in south-eastern Poland: some 1,400 international students from more than fifty countries study there, and an alumni network of some 60,000 reaches more than eighty countries.
Its education stands on an international institutional base: alignment with the Bologna Process within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

Rzeszów, home to UITM, is the economic, academic and cultural centre of south-eastern Poland — and, with 353 students for every 1,000 residents, one of Europe's foremost student cities.
It is also the heart of Aviation Valley, a cluster of the aerospace industry. As the intellectual hub of this ecosystem of more than 160 companies, UITM works with global companies such as Lufthansa on curriculum development, bridging theory and practice.
On campus stand more than 45 modern laboratories, including a Financial Laboratory for simulated stock trading.
